Everyday, approximately thirty youth and young adults, age 14-24, are without food and shelter in Evansville, IN. Our Street Outreach distributes 4-non-perishable meals and critical hygiene products to the city's most vulnerable residents.

Reaching Homeless Youth & Young Adults

Everyday, approximately thirty youth and young adults, age 14-24, are without food and shelter in Vanderburgh County.  They live in abandoned homes and buildings and will, occassionally, find shelter on the couch of a friend or stranger, but that only lasts for a day or two, before they find themselves homeless again.  Our Street Outreach connects with these youth and young adults where they are, and provides them with non-perishable meals, clothing, blankets and hygiene products.

Often times, their homelessness is due to their family’s inability to care for them.  Parents lose housing, employment and are often incarcerated, dealing with mental health issues or severe drug addiction.  Other family members may not be viable, or even housed themselves, so youth take to the streets and do the best they can to care for themselves.  We provide on-the-spot help and assistance and refer youth to community organizations for further assistance.

We are always looking for volunteers to assit us with our Street Outreach as well as donors and sponors willing to donate the items we need the most to ensure that we can continue to provide this critical resource to the community.
