Walmart Fundraiser July 29th and 30th 2023
We are in need of volunteers to help us with our annual Walmart Fundraiser on Saturday, July 29th and Sunday July 30th, at the Walmart on the westside of Evansville. Volunteers will work in shifts of 2-hours, each day. The Fundraiser is from 9:00AM-2:00PM on both days. The following shifts are available:
Saturday, July 29th: 8-10 / 10-12 / 12-2
Sunday, July 30th: 8-10 / 10-12 / 12-2
This volunteer opportunity will require you to hand out information to shoppers as they walk into the doors of Walmart, drive donations to the organization through customer interaction and is a very active volunteer opportunity. Volunteers will be provided with lunch or a snack and a Foster Care In The U.S. T-Shirt. This is a great “GIVE BACK” oportunity for an entire family, or a business looking for creative ways for their employees to give back to the community. Compaines, that register for this opportunity, can elect to have their employees wear their comany logo shirts so that the public is made aware of all the things that you do! If you are interested in this opportunity, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Mandy Fee.
Spring/Summer Landscaping & Flower Planting
We are eagerly looking forward to the Spring and Summer of 2023. Do you have a green thumb? Can you tell the difference between a Petunia and a Pansy? If so, we need you to assist us in making the IATT House look just as beautiful on the outside as it does on the inside. We will have planned planting and landscaping days. The schedules for both will be posted here around the end of March. If you are interested in assisting us with this, please email our Volunteer Coordinator, Mandy Fee, directly, via email, at mandy@fostercareintheus.org .
This volunteer opportunity will require a lot of bending, kneeling, lifting, digging in the ground and is a very dirty, but fun, opportunity.
UPDATE!
The EPA will be removing all of the sod in the front and back of the home beginning in June of 2023. We cannot dig, plant or perform any construction on the property until their work is complete. We regret that we will have to postposne landscaping until the 2024 season, but we are eagerly looking forward to a MASSIVE outdoor planting and design day in the Spring of 2024!
Hygiene Kit Assemblers
Each year, we give away between 280-360 hygiene products to those in need. These kits are essential in that they provide individuals with the necessary items to take care of themselves. We provide items such as shower/shave gel, lotion, deodorant, socks, underwear, bras, tampons/pads, personal cleaning items, combs,/brushes, wash cloths etc. Everything that we provide is essential and takes care of the individuals personal care needs.
Volunteers, wishing to assit with assembling Hygiene Kits, can expect to do a lot of standing, bending, carrying, labeling, sorting and stapeling. We will have planned assembling days after the home opens. The schedule will be posted here around the end of April. If you are interested in assisting us with this, please email our Volunteer Coordinator, Mandy Fee, directly, via email, at mandy@fostercareintheus.org .
