Hygiene Kit Assemblers

Each year, we give away between 280-360 hygiene products to those in need.  These kits are essential in that they provide individuals with the necessary items to take care of themselves.  We provide items such as shower/shave gel, lotion, deodorant, socks, underwear, bras, tampons/pads, personal cleaning items, combs,/brushes, wash cloths etc.  Everything that we provide is essential and takes care of the individuals personal care needs.

Volunteers, wishing to assit with assembling Hygiene Kits, can expect to do a lot of standing, bending, carrying, labeling, sorting and stapeling.  We will have planned assembling days after the home opens.  The schedule will be posted here around the end of April.  If you are interested in assisting us with this, please email our Volunteer Coordinator, Mandy Fee, directly, via email, at mandy@fostercareintheus.org .

FS2’s

FS2’s (Family Support Too) are individuals that work directly with program participants.  FS2’s are an extension of our overall program and work with young people to help them develop personal life skills which supports building self-esteem, self-awareness and improves decision-making processes.  FS2’s must go through training before being paired with a program participant.  Training takes place three times a year, and lasts for approximately 2-3 weeks.  Check back here for upcoming 2024 dates and times.

Street Outreach Team Members

We are in the process of building our Street Outreach Team.  Street Outreach is a community outreach service which focuses time and resources on youth and young adults who are homeless and living on the streets in Evansville and the surrounding counties.  Team memebrs, under the guidance of the Executive Director, hands out critical items like food, water, blankets, coats, hats, socks and hygiene products to this vulnerable demographic.  Safety raining and information, to become an SOT team member, is 2-3 weeks.  Individuals, wishing to be a part of SOT, must complete training prior to going out into the community.  If you are interested in being a SOT team member, please fill out the brief registration form below, select Street Outreach Team Member, and someone will contact you with next steps.
