Hope For The Holidays 2023
We are in need of volunteers to help us with our Hope For The Holidays giveaway. Those of you who wish to volunteer this year, please use the email form below. We will have one big volunteer day, and then the giveaway day. REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN! Click HERE to be taken to the application.
Volunteer Day is Saturday, December 9, 2023: 8-10 or 10-12
Giveaway Day is Saturday December 16, 2023: 8:00-12 noon
This volunteer opportunity will require you to stand, bend, left and move items, stuff bags, backpacks and boxes, use a tape gun, write and label boxes, put stickers on bags, and walk 8-12 feet back and forth at times. You may need to lift a box that weighs between 12-35lbs on occassion.
This is a great “GIVE BACK” oportunity for an entire family, or a business looking for creative ways for their employees to give back to the community. Compaines, that register for this opportunity, can elect to have their employees wear their comany logo shirts so that the public is made aware of all the things that you do! If you are interested in this opportunity, please fill out the volunteer registration below.
Hygiene Kit Assemblers
Each year, we give away between 280-360 hygiene products to those in need. These kits are essential in that they provide individuals with the necessary items to take care of themselves. We provide items such as shower/shave gel, lotion, deodorant, socks, underwear, bras, tampons/pads, personal cleaning items, combs,/brushes, wash cloths etc. Everything that we provide is essential and takes care of the individuals personal care needs.
Volunteers, wishing to assit with assembling Hygiene Kits, can expect to do a lot of standing, bending, carrying, labeling, sorting and stapeling. We will have planned assembling days after the home opens. The schedule will be posted here around the end of April. If you are interested in assisting us with this, please email our Volunteer Coordinator, Mandy Fee, directly, via email, at mandy@fostercareintheus.org .
FS2’s
FS2’s (Family Support Too) are individuals that work directly with program participants. FS2’s are an extension of our overall program and work with young people to help them develop personal life skills which supports building self-esteem, self-awareness and improves decision-making processes. FS2’s must go through training before being paired with a program participant. Training takes place three times a year, and lasts for approximately 2-3 weeks. Check back here for upcoming 2024 dates and times.
