The competition seeks to identify and showcase the artistic talents of emerging young artists in the Tri-State. Five winners will be selected, from a pool of 30, to bring their drawing to full color life on our newly constructed 16 X 24 shed. Complete rules, and how to enter, can be found below. Number of Registered Entrants Due to the volume of submissions we anticipate we will receive, only the first 30 individuals who register to enter the competition will be allowed to do so. Entrants must be able to commit, timewise if selected as a winner, to bringing their drawing to life. We anticipate that the total amount of time winners will need to bring their drawing to full color life on the building to be about one to two weeks. Competition Age Restriction This competition is open to youth, age 10-18 only, residing in Vanderburgh County. How are the winners selected? A panel of eight judges will decide the winners of the competition. The panel will select 2-runners up in the event that one of the winners is unable to complete their work. Entries Each of the 30 registered entrants may only submit 1 (one) drawing into the competition. 1. Drawing must be in pencil ONLY on a 8 X 10 piece of paper 2. Drawings can be colored in using color pencils, or crayons, to show what colors you will use to paint it to bring it to full-color life. If a colored back-drop will be used, color that in as well. 3. Drawing must be on plain white paper or can be submitted on a piece of plain notebook paper. 4. Drawing must be on one side of the paper only and cannot be on both sides of the paper 5. Artist must be able to bring their pencil drawing to life on a life-size canvas. 6. 3D renderings will be accepted for this competition if you know how to draw 3D art. 3D art is art that brings you into it or brings the art out of the picture and is so real that you can’t tell it’s a picture. 7. Each drawing must have the artists name, mailing address, email and phone number written on the back of the drawing when it is submitted 8. Use your imagination!!!!!!!!!!! Trust it! Drawing Specs Drawings submitted must be able to creatively merge your vision of the world with the mission of Foster Care In The U.S. Our mission is to improve the outcomes of homeless, transitional foster care and at-risk youth and young adults; age 16-24. Drawings must: • Be your original work and not a copy of another artist’s work. • Incorporate one of our logos into it however you see fit. • Cannot contain vulgar or graphic depictions of humans or animals nor can they be of crimes or illegal activity. • Must incorporate some aspects of yourself and your individual personality. Tell us who you are through your art Notifications The 30 registered will be notified, via email, that their registration has been received and that they are now entered into the Draw For A Cause Art Competition. When are drawings due? ALL drawings must be turned in by Wednesday May 15th 2024 by 5:00 P.M. Drawings may be turned into either Y & E or Sugar Bakers Home Fashions during their normal business hours only. Winning Artists will begin working on their design on the shed on Saturday May 25th 2024. The winning artwork will not be revealed to the public until after all five artists have brought their drawings to life on the building. No one, not even Foster Care In The U.S. will know what is being drawn or what the building looks like until it is revealed live, on television, once it is complete: during the reveal party. At that time, EVERYONE will be able to see it. The only individuals who will know what the artwork looks like are the artist and the judges.
